Tell us in one sentence who you are and where are you from?
“My name is Xavier Torrasca A.K.A. AUDIOIKO. I’m a music lover and I’m from Asuncion, Paraguay.”
Where did your love of music first come from?
“My love of music comes from the first time that I held a popular guitar to play Paraguayan music.”
How long have you been DJing?
“I’ve been DJing since 2013.”
Do you produce music also?
“Yes, I do. I started off producing Latin music and then I began to produce dance music.”
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
“When I was #1 on Shazam with my tracks for two months in a row.”
Tell us about the success as a DJ you’ve had in your own country.
“I’ve been part of the best festivals in town, so I think that I’m in the right way.”
How does it feel to win your local Miller SoundClash competition? Tell us about your experience in the competition so far.
“I feel good” as it says on one of my tracks. The experience has so far been amazing. It is difficult to be a part of because there’s lots of good DJs in the competition.”
How much does it mean to you to have made it to this stage of Miller SoundClash?
“For sure it is an important stage in my career. I hope to take advantage of the experience that I will have in Vegas.”
How do you plan to stand out over the other DJs in Las Vegas? How will you be preparing for the finale?
“I plan to give my best, as always, day and night to show to the crowd my hard job as a DJ and Producer.”
What makes you unique compared to the other international finalists?
“My effort as an artist, my connection with the crowd through the music and the DJs.”
Las Vegas is the EDM capital of the USA, with major DJs playing every weekend. If you could meet and hang out with one of these DJs in Vegas, who would it be and why?
“KSHMR is one of my favorite DJs and producers. I would love to hang out with him because I want to learn from him skills to produce.”
Who from dance music’s elite do you most respect and take inspiration from?
“Without any doubt, David Guetta because of his career, the musical evolution and innovation in music.”
How important is it for competitions like Miller SoundClash to give aspiring DJs the chance to show their talent to the world?
“It is very important because you have the chance to go to Vegas to share the same experience that all the major DJs have day by day.”
Tell us a bit about your home country – how is the electronic music scene where you are from?
“It is growing fast. Our audience have started to support the local artist productions in this new generation.”
